Before the Big Day
I offer an initial consultation, which will take place as early as possible before the big day. During this time, we can discuss what you would like to achieve from the day, different photography styles, as well as compiling a 'shot list' and taking care of the necessary paperwork.
A 'shot list' is essentially a list of photos you need, and typically includes items such as formal group shots with particular people, or a request to shoot specific accessories (e.g. shoes, dress, jewellery etc). This way you can be sure that all the special moments are included, and no VIP is left out of the group shots on the day!
Following the initial consultation, I will need to revisit you again nearer to the big day to photograph the available accessories (shoes, dress, bouquet etc). This shouldn't take more than an hour but it relieves a lot of pressure on the day if we get as many of these shots as possible beforehand.
On the Big Day
If you have opted for the Bridal Prep option, I will arrive at your home at the specified time to capture the bridal party getting ready. These photos are very informal and are usually presented in monochrome to reflect this.
I then slip off to the service to photograph the venue and decor, as well the guests and bridal/groom party arriving and all the last minute preparations. The entire service is then captured, during which I will move around silently to capture as many angles as possible. Please check with the vicar what the venue's rules are regarding photography, as these can differ dramatically and will impact on the approach I have to take to capturing the service.
After the service, you should allow at least 30 minutes to take formal photos of the bride and groom, as well as the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and guests. I recommend that you assign someone to be the "Photo Master", responsible for rounding up the guests and ensuring that all the VIPS are there for their photos. Those mentioned on the shot list will be photographed first, with everyone else afterwards as time permits.
I will then whisk the bride and groom off somewhere on the grounds for some formal photos.
If you have opted for reception coverage, it is then time to pop over to the venue to capture the venue, decor and guests as they raise a glass to the bride and groom. Here I will capture all the wedding traditions; the first dance, speeches, cutting the cake.
After the Big Day
Whilst you are busy getting used to married life, I will be working tirelessly to retouch your images and perform the hours of editing required for providing you with a collection of sensational images that you will want to treasure for the rest of your lives.
As soon as your photos are ready, you will be sent a link to an online gallery, which you can share with all your guests. Here you can have a preview of the photos, and guests can purchase prints to call their own via the website. Your photos will be delivered to you in a presentation pack within 4 weeks of your wedding.
